What cover ?
Insurance to benefit from a reassuring indemnity in the event of permanent disablement or in the event of death following an accident sustained during the Dakar.

To top up the basic covers that may be proposed by your Sports Federations licenses.
Who can take out cover ?
Any competitor in the MOTO-QUAD, CAR, TRUCK, SUPPORT VEHICLE, categories, any member of the press in a car, any other member of the press and any person accompanying the rally in an aircraft, limited to persons below the age of 75.
What is the duration of the cover ?
Cover applies as soon as you enter the confines of Delta Dock (Argentina) harbour to pick up the vehicles or the technical and administrative areas at BUENOS AIRES, at the earliest on 31 December 2008. Cover terminates on arrival in BUENOS AIRES on 18 January at midnight or, for competitors dropping off their vehicles on the vessel provided by ASO, on 20 January, at the latest at midnight.
What are the main advantages of this insurance ?
Covers designed and negotiated by automobile racing specialists :
- Bikes-Quads -> Minimum sum insured: 15.000 € and maximum : 150.000 €
- Cars-Trucks -> Minimum sum insured: 30.000 € and maximum : 350.000 €
- Other participants -> Minimum sum insured: 30.000 € and maximum : 350.000 €
- Medical expenses option: cover for expenses up to 40.000 €, in addition to the cover of 4500 € paid for by the organisation.

What cover ?
An all risks insurance (including theft and damage to accessories and equipment) to cover the risk of damage to or destruction of the vehicles during transport by ship and some of the financial consequences if you cannot compete in the rally (limited to vessels provided by ASO).
Why take out insurance ?
To protect your vehicle at its declared value (up to 350.000 € for racing vehicles and up to 200.000 € for support vehicles) instead of only the flat value as stated in the regulations. This is therefore cover that frees you from the limitations of international transport conventions.
Who can insure ?
All QUAD-BIKE, CAR, TRUCK, SUPPORT VEHICLE participants.
What is the duration of the cover ?
For the outward journey, cover is valid from the time the vehicle is dropped off at Le Havre harbour (France) following the technical inspection until it leaves Delta Dock harbour (Argentina). For the return journey, cover is valid from the time the vehicle is dropped off at Delta Dock harbour (Argentina) until it leaves Le Havre harbour (France).
What are the main advantages of this policy ?
The sums insured offer a high comfort level for all participants, in particular for tight budgets. Moreover, these sums insured can be increased on request. Just ask your Gras Savoye adviser who will be happy to assist you.
The sums insured proposed are :
- Bike-Quad > Maximum sum insured proposed : 35.000 € (deductible 1.000 €)
- Cars-Truck-> Maximum sum insured proposed : 350.000 € (deductible 2.000 €)
- Support cars -> Maximum sum insured proposed : 100.000 € (deductible 2.000 €)
- Support trucks -> Maximum sum insured proposed : 200.000 € (deductible 2.000 €)
- Reimbursement of expenses option : you can insure on the basis of documentary evidence the costs you incur for trans- port, hotels, vehicle preparation, and registration fees in the event you are unable to participate, following loss occurring during transport (limited to the expenses incurred for support vehicles).
